We promoted the integration of the municipality of Espinho in a European consortium whose application submitted under the first call of the Europe for Citizens (2014-2020) programme was approved, in which we ensure the technical support to the participation of the local authority throughout the development process of the proposal before its submission
With a budget of EUR 125 000, the EU-FIN European Union Fishing Network project aims to create a European network which integrates different municipalities and regions that share common interests and have a tradition in the fisheries sector, with a view to foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices through the promotion of stimulating events and initiatives around this theme.
The municipality of Espinho will assume the coordination and organization of one of the events contemplated in the project which will take place in the county and will have the participation of several European partners.
This project is viewed as an opportunity for the municipality to participate in the promotion of a Europe-wide debate on an area of national socio-economic importance, with highlight to current issues of the sector and its sustainability, among other relevant themes incorporated in the Common Fisheries Policy.
