    MusicAIRE: European project to support the recovery of the music ecosystem

    MusicAIRE is the new European project coordinated by INOVA+ that will support the recovery of the music ecosystem after the pandemic.

    Co-funded by the Preparatory Action Music Moves Europe of the European Union, the MusicAIRE (An Innovative Recovery for Europe) project aims to help the recovery of the music sector by designing and testing a grant scheme to support the music ecosystem to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic crisis in a green, digital, fair, and resilient way.

    In preparation for this call, 45 music networks were invited to answer a questionnaire to know their needs in a green, digital, fair, and resilient recovery. Subsequently, the invitation to participate in the MusicAIRE think-tank groups was announced, which was based on the analysis of the questionnaire, identified what kind of support the music sector needs in the mentioned areas.

    The kick-off meeting of the new European project coordinated by INOVA+ and the European Music Council (EMC) took place on September 22, 2021 in an online format. Representatives of partner organizations met to discuss key issues related to project management and implementation.

    MusicAIRE will co-finance “sustainable actions” following an innovative scheme, involving, and empowering the sector in an effective recovery process, promoting peer learning, sharing experiences and networking, promoting a participatory approach to policymaking.

    The first calls for projects are expected to be published in January 2022, with a second round expected to be published in autumn 2022. Stay tuned!
