INOVA+ has accumulated a significant experience in the aeronautical sector, sustained by a network of players that has been growing through involvement in various projects in this area. In this context, we highlight the cooperation with Instituto Superior Técnico in creating an international consortium for an H2020 programme application, concerning the subject “Identification of gaps, barriers, and needs in the aviation research”.

The proposal submitted by this consortium of 15 entities, from 9 countries (including organizations like Airbus, Sata and Ivchenko-Progress) was approved by the European Commission and consists of the PARE project – Perspectives for the Aeronautical Research in Europe, which has obtained funding for more than 1 million seven hundred thousand euros.

The project aims to support the achievement of Flightpath 2050 goals and evaluates the progress of each of the 23 objectives for this plan, assessing what has been achieved, as well as existing gaps. The result of the PARE project will be three annual reports that will focus on areas like long-distance journeys, emergent technologies relevant to non-aeronautical sectors, Europe’s competitors’ activities (for example, the USA), and common interest areas for cooperation, among others.
