INOVA+ supported the Centre for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development of the Polytechnic of Leiria (CDRSP-PL) in the process of preparing and applying to Horizon Europe, to the topic “Twinning” under the “Widening Participation and Spreading Excellence” actions. The proposed Coordination and Support Action was successfully approved.

CDRSP-PL is the project coordinator of a consortium of 4 organisations, which has approved funding of about 1.3 million euros.

PREDICTOS focuses on predictive in vitro and in silico models to investigate novel therapies against osteosarcoma (OS) – the tumor that most affects the youngest, with lower cure success. Hence, the consortium will collaborate in an exploratory research project for develop and test 3D in vitro and in silico models to mimic OS, generating knowledge on novel therapeutic strategies to eliminate cancer cells.

Discovering the newest and enhanced forms to analyse and treat cancer is among the top national and international priorities.

The project started in January 2023 with an expected duration of 36 months, and foresees cooperation with three leading institutions (CNR, IT; MERLN, NL; ULIEGE, BE), encompassing various knowledge-sharing and capacity building activities, including researchers and management/ administrative staff exchanges.
