We supported Sword Health in the process of preparation and submission of the application approved by the European Commission submitted to stage 2 of SME Instrument, within the subject “Open Disruptive Innovation Scheme”.

Sword Health has obtained more than nine hundred thousand euros in funding to develop the project SWORD – Advanced Analytics Platform for Stroke Patients Rehabilitation. The company has thought of a solution that aims at the development of an innovative and sustainable system for support motor rehabilitation therapy in patients who have had a stroke, that can be used in the hospital or at home without any need for supervision, and that allies technology and neuroscience-oriented therapy methods, in order to maximize therapy, and therefore, patient recovery.

Specifically, the SWORD system comprises a device that is used by the patient and that analyses their motor performance during rehabilitation exercises, sending these data to a mobile device which provides real time feedback on the patient’s performance; the system also includes a platform cloud that analyses the data from each rehabilitation session, available to the medical team, that allows to monitor each patient’s recovery and to guide the rehabilitation therapy process.
