INOVA+ developed, together with five Intermunicipal Communities and with ADXTUR – Agency for the Tourist Development of Schist Villages, the Strategic Action Plan – Pinhal Interior 2030. The document is structured in eight Thematic Programs and has an expected multi-fund incentive of 127.3 million euros.

The Strategic Action Plan – Pinhal Interior 2030 was presented on January 30. The document is the result of an intense work process, together with the Intermunicipal Communities of the Coimbra Region, Leiria Region, Médio Tejo, Beira Baixa and Beiras and Serra da Estrela and ADXTUR. The process also included the active participation of of Municipalities, Professional Schools, Polytechnics, Scientific and Technological System Entities, Collaborative Laboratories, Business Associations, Local Associations, IPSS, and National and European Agencies.

The event, which marked the formalization of the Consortium Agreement between the five Intermunicipal Communities and ADXTUR, took place in Ansião and was attended and attended by the Minister of Territorial Cohesion Ana Abrunhosa. The moment was also marked by the interventions of the President of ADXTUR and the Mayor of Leiria, Arganil, Proenca-a-Nova, Mação and Gouveia, representing the respective Intermunicipal Communities.

Objective: to face the challenges of the territory

The Strategic Action Plan developed is based on four pillars: Territorial Resilience; Territorial Cohesion; Competitiveness; and Attractiveness. The main objective is to face the challenges of the territory, namely: depopulation and population aging, the marked decline of the active population, the reduced competitiveness and diversification of the economic structure, the low capacity to attract talent and investment, the weak supply of services of general interest (GIS) to the resident population, the scarcity of entrepreneurship initiatives, and the difficulties of preserving natural resources.

The document is structured in 8 Thematic Programs, with 28 operations and an expected multi-fund incentive of 127.3 million euros. Until February 29, the submission of the application for CENTRO 2030 will be formalized, with a collection of funds of 45 million euros, through which 20 Operations from 6 Thematic Programs will be financed.

The Pinhal Interior territory includes 139 parishes from 24 municipalities and municipalities of the Intermunicipal Communities of the Coimbra Region, Leiria Region, Médio Tejo, Beira Baixa and Beiras and Serra da Estrela, corresponding to 5,484km2, and with an estimated resident population of 171,421 inhabitants.
