Made up of a consortium of 22 members from five European countries (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and Cyprus), the project is managed by the Polytechnic Institute of Porto and has the partnership of INOVA+.
SHOREWINNER is a four-year project designed to impact both the people and the organizations involved in the offshore renewable energy ecosystem in southern Europe. The expectation is that the results will contribute significantly to the formation of a qualified and diverse workforce.
The main aim of the project is to address the need of the sector, especially wind energy, by developing skills, qualifications and reskilling the workforce. To facilitate the sharing of knowledge and resources between participants, Communities of Practice will be set up to create bridges between five Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVE), one for each country involved in the project.
The project will organize training programs, internships, exchanges, workshops and seminars to support professional development, based on the interests of CoVEs. These programs are designed with the intention of contributing to the dual green and digital transition, with a more qualified workforce.
The project is expected to have a significant impact in Portugal, especially in strengthening education and employment in this sector. The participation of Portuguese organizations (INOVA+, P.PORTO, EPATV, FOR-MAR, Voltalia and APREN) highlights Portugal’s commitment to professional training and the sustainable development of the renewable energy industry.
