INOVA+, Live DMA and European Music Exporters Exchange (EMEE) are excited to announce the launch of the new European project LIVEMX.

LIVEMX, co-funded by the European Union, aims to nurture a more diverse and sustainable music sector in Europe. A central part of the project is a leading-edge funding scheme designed to address very specific needs within the European music ecosystem.

Over the project´s timeframe, three calls for proposals will encourage music professionals to take a leading role to respond to immediate challenges of the sector. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, challenges such as cross-border mobility of musicians, and sustainability in the industry, require a vision that involves all stakeholders. The funding scheme, which foresees 4 M € of cascade funding, will support 90 music sector beneficiaries with grants and capacity building actions focusing on three specific topics: “music export”, “music venues” and “digital circulation and engagement”.

To meet the project´s objectives, LIVEMX´s consortium is made up of three entities showcasing immense capacity and expertise: INOVA+, Live DMA and EMEE.

INOVA+ is an expert provider of consultancy services in the fields of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. With more than 25 years of experience, the company participated in several projects, boosting innovation and fostering collaboration, especially in cultural and creative industries and sectors. INOVA+ is also the coordinator of the project MusicAIRE, implemented with the European Music Council. “This is an exciting moment for INOVA+. Being entrusted with the coordination of LIVEMX affirms our commitment to supporting the growth of the European music sector. We are incredibly excited to harness the collective brilliance of our partners and combine it with our previous experience to promote exciting grass-rooted opportunities with European added-value.”

Live DMA, created in 2012, is a European network representing over 3000 live music venues, clubs and festivals through 20 national associations in 16 countries. By structuring a very fragmented sector and gathering diverse voices on shared values, Live DMA aims to support the European live music scene towards a fairer and more sustainable music ecosystem. “The Live DMA network is delighted to develop LIVEMX programme to sustain our local music scenes and make them thrive all across Europe through collaborative actions and learning”.

EMEE is a non-profit association made up of 32 national and regional Music Export offices from 27 countries. Its mission is to strengthen the European music sector by encouraging musical diversity, and visibility, and supporting mobility in and outside Europe. The organization facilitates this through the exchange of information and expertise from its members as well as project initiatives between members and/or other music industry organisations. “LIVEMX is a project and opportunity that fits perfectly with the mission of EMEE, and the European Music Export Strategy designed with the commission these last 3 years to support a stronger, diverse and innovative music industry sector through collaboration, mobility and capacity building. We can’t wait to see the impact this funding will have on the wider sector.”

The Consortium will soon publish an online survey to gather feedback on how to ensure that the LIVEMX scheme is relevant and well-structured. Additionally, the first call for projects will be published later this year!

Stay tuned for upcoming updates and opportunities to get involved!
