LAUDS Factories: 2nd Call Open for Manufacturing Projects

The LAUDS Factories project has officially launched its 2nd Open Call, challenging creative and technological teams to contribute to a future of local, accessible, urban, digital, and sustainable manufacturing. Applications are open until 4 September 2025.

This is a unique opportunity to replicate the model of local and sustainable urban factories, tailored to different local contexts and developed in collaboration with one of the existing LAUDS Factories.

Funding Opportunity

The initiative will select and fund up to 8 projects, with a total budget of €216,000, to support the development of local solutions addressing key challenges in the areas of mobility, energy, and agriculture/food production.

Proposals should present innovative and concrete solutions to address the following challenges:

Priority Challenges

Mobility

  • M1: Effective solutions to promote active and non-motorized transport.
  • M2: Inclusive proposals to ensure accessible transportation for all.
  • M3: Reducing the carbon footprint of urban transport systems.
  • M4: Innovative solutions for informed and accessible decision-making in urban mobility.

Energy

  • E1: New concepts for local energy delivery systems.
  • E2: Democratizing energy through DIY renewable energy solutions.
  • E3: Reusing fabrics and advanced biomaterials for energy-efficient interiors.

Agriculture and Food Production

  • A1: Community-driven solutions for food waste valorisation.
  • A2: Green education and cultivation systems fostering urban sustainability through community involvement.
  • A3: Local production of affordable and sustainable materials for agriculture.

About the LAUDS Factories Project

The LAUDS Factories project brings together 15 partners from 10 European countries with the aim of creating local and sustainable urban factories, fostering the scalability of open and digital innovations across Europe.

INOVA+ is part of the consortium and serves as the partner responsible for coordinating the Open Calls, playing a central role in the selection and support of the funded teams.
