ProBleu Launches Resource Catalogue on Water Literacy

The ProBleu project, of which INOVA+ is a key promoter, has launched a Resource Catalogue featuring teaching tools for water literacy. This online resource is designed to foster education about oceans in primary and secondary schools across Europe and associated countries, contributing to the goals of the EU Mission: Restore Our Oceans and Waters by 2030.

The ProBleu Resource Catalogue offers a variety of educational tools for theoretical, practical, and project-based teaching strategies, including materials on topics such as ocean chemistry, freshwater resources, and citizen science tools, among many others. Educators are encouraged to reuse and enhance these materials, as well as share their own content within the catalogue, fostering collaboration among teachers worldwide. In this way, the tool aims to support educators in introducing topics related to marine and freshwater ecosystems, inspiring students to become active stewards of our oceans and water resources.

The Catalogue is accessible in multiple languages, ensuring it meets the needs of diverse educational systems across Europe and beyond. This resource includes educational materials created by teachers who led Blue Projects funded through ProBleu’s grant calls, establishing itself as a collaborative tool for educators around the globe.

Blue Schools Network: A Movement for Water Literacy

The ProBleu Resource Catalogue supports the broader goal of encouraging schools to join the European Blue Schools Network, a community of educators and students committed to sustainable practices and the protection of marine and freshwater ecosystems.

INOVA+ represents Portugal in the ProBleu project consortium, funded by the Horizon Europe programme, to promote ocean and water literacy. The initiative aligns with the EU Mission: Restore Our Oceans and Waters by 2030, engaging school communities in impactful educational activities that foster a culture of responsibility in protecting our aquatic resources.
